Carbon Reduction Plan
Supplier name: Catapult CX
Publication date: November 2023
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Catapult CX is committed to achieving Net Zero by 2028.
Baseline year: 2021
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations:
- This is our first year of reporting
- Catapult calculated this themselves but plan to engage an external company to assist in the future
- The accounting period was October 2021 to November 2022.
- For this base year and initial calculation, Catapult calculated 100% of scope 1 emissions, 100% of scope 2, and over 70% of scope 3 emissions.
- The scope 3 calculation only covers 70% because there are some cloud services that we use where it is difficult to perform any calculation.
- The office was closed due to COVID giving zero scope 1 emissions.
Emission | Total (tCO2e) |
---|---|
Scope 1 | 0 |
Scope 2 | 7.23 |
Scope 3 (included sources) | 9.31 |
Total | 16.54 |
Current year: 2023

- We closed our offices, introduced "work from home" and moved all our IT to the cloud which reduced our scope 1 & 2 emissions to zero.

---|---|
Scope 1 | 0 |
Scope 2 | 0 |
Scope 3 (included sources) | 14.474 |

Emissions reduction targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 12 tCO2e by 2028. This is a reduction of 15%.
Throughout the next GHG accounting period, Catapult will put in place an annual emissions reduction target of 100% of scope 1, scope 2 and 2.5% of scope 3 emissions. This is in line with reductions required to achieve less than 2 degrees warming in comparison to pre-industrial levels (as set out by the IPCC report).
Carbon Reduction Projects
The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2021 baseline:
- We closed our physical office and now only have a virtual office eliminating out scope 1&2 emissions.
- Moved the entire workforce to work from home.
- Provide advice for staff on making ethical and sustainable choices outside of their work.
- Moved software services to cloud which have a reduced carbon footprint.
