UX Designer

Up to £50,000 per annum

Based in London

Catapult CX is currently looking for an Interaction Designer to digitise customer journeys, you will work out the best way to let users interact with services, in terms of both overall flow and at the level of individual design elements.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to hone their interaction design skills and to create great public services. You will be responsible for building clean and effective user experience for our customers.

By working cross-functionally, to understand needs from the users, product management, engineering, and business stakeholders and build solutions that fit those needs. Working in our offices 5 minutes from Green Park you will work with our supportive and knowledgeable team, gaining invaluable experience and insight in designing great user experiences, which will Catapult your career forward

Your Skills

Communication

  • Have the ability to listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret between them
  • Manage stakeholders expectations, be flexible and capable of proactive and reactive communications

Digital Perspective

  • Develop and present documentation, user flows, annotated wireframes, and interactive prototypes
  • Leverage user testing make product improvements
  • Support the improvement of client's web user experience using responsive design
  • Design web elements and new journeys to be AB tested by our team
  • Deploy the front end and business processes for the client's product/service
  • Ensure that the client's company website renders well across multiple network services
  • Design a framework for creating user services that grows with the needs of the company
  • Monitor website performance, watch for traffic drops related to site usability problems and rectify the issues
  • Review user services and feature coding and plan future website upgrades with the development team
  • Assist in the development of applications and features that will be put on the website and in internal functions as well
  • Designs systems for use across multiple services and can identify the simplest approach out of a variety of approaches (Occam’s razor)
  • Experienced in using a variety of methods of prototyping. Shares best practice and can coach others. Looks at strategic service design end to end
  • Can create and validate a dynamic prototype
  • Work according to the GDS service manual and guidelines

You

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, or a related field of study
  • Have 3+ years’ web UX/UI experience required ideally within the banking, insurances industries or working with government bodies
  • Proficient in visual design and wireframing tools
  • Can show a proven track-record of delivering great responsive designs
  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of web development tools and the following programming languages and frameworks: HTML5 / CSS3 / JavaScript / Angular / React / Bootstrap / jQuery, Mocha / chai / Browserstack
  • Work effectively within a team, there are a lot of systems to learn, and the experience your team members can share with you will be invaluable
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English
